THEATRE/COMBAT

In my theater work, I focus on blending circus, movement, combat and physical comedy to create interactive performances that make dark, vulnerable topics playful and approachable.
Lately, my work has centers on dreams, cryptic creatures, the absurd, magical realism, and playfully approaching dark themes, though sometimes I make silly things just for fun.
With an MFA in Devised Performance and a BFA in Physical Theater, I’ve spent the last decade exploring psychogeographical and dream-based material, creating and performing original works with ensembles for national and international touring - with a dance-theater company called AuraCuriatlas, as well as with my own company Whisper Theatre. Whisper’s mission aligns with my own: to create original, collaborative, embodied works of experimental theater exploring the darker themes of life.
I’m inspired by my own vivid, lucid dreams, as well as a fascination with cryptic creatures, old surrealist films, and 60s/70s performance art. This has led me to create strange and absurd pieces aimed to share similar experiences with audiences. I aspire to generate a sense of magical realism in my art, and to use interactive character theater to build community.
